CHARACTERISTICS
Calcium silicate is a white odorless solid which is practically insoluble in water. In its natural form it can be found in the mineral wollastonite (CaSiO3). It is obtained via chemical reaction between calcium oxide and silicon dioxide. Calcium silicate products have excellent thermal insulation and mechanical properties, making them ideal for high temperature applications up to 1100 °C, especially in back-up insulation for all types of furnaces. Calcium silicate fire protection and thermal insulation products protect people and equipment, save space and energy, and improve processes and efficiency.
